The history of RW begins in 1996 when company owner Tracy Airth founded Long Riders Gear, specializing in gear and apparel for trail and distance riders. Tracy created "catalogs" on her vintage computer, cutting and pasting images onto boards for her news print catalog in the Tribune. In 1998 she created her own website and in 2007 she shifted her business model to e-commerce. From 2008-2012 Long Riders boomed however, Tracy stayed true to her roots of face to face interaction, setting up booths at every endurance competition she competed in. It was this grassroots formation of relationships that instilled in Tracy the importance of putting the customer first. Ultimately this led to the RW brand we know and love today!
